Pope prides itself on offering a well rounded number of activities for families and airmen. From a comprehensive golf program to a state-of-the-art fitness center, you will find that recreation on Pope is high intensity.

The Fitness Center is equipped with all the lateest exercise equipment. It offers a free weight room, single station resistance equipment room, cardiovascular exercise and aerobics room. There are six raquetball courts and two basketball courts in the facility. Locker rooms are equipped with spas, saunas, showers and lockers.

Outdoors, there are two lighted softball fields, eight lighted tennis courts, one lighted football field and jogging track. Fields may be used for practices and special events.

The Fitness Center also provides a Parent Workout/Child Play area where you may workout without the worry of getting a baby-sitter.

You will also find the Nutrition Connection at the Fitness Center which is a "gathering place for healthy bodies". The military's first beverage bar and supplement center with service provided by a friendly and knowledgeable staff certified in nutrition and personal training.

The Pope 20-lane Bowling Center has a pro shop, a full service snack bar, and dining area that makes the center an attractive place to spend a free evening. The Pope Community Center is a good place to visit and find out what is happening on Pope. It also has rooms available for meetings, special functions, parties, classes, etc. If needed, catering for functions is available through the Pope Club.

The Pope Swimming Pool normally opens on Memorial Day and closes on Labor Day. Located beside the Pope Club, it is equipped with three diving boards, a water slide, a children's wading pool, playground and deck for private parties. Seasonal and daily passes are available.
